The idea of new institution “Swarnim Gujarat Sports University” was conceived by honorable Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi. The University is located near Vadodara and it is the first Sports University of India. This new university is under construction. The phase 1 of the project covers the administration building, hostel blocks, multipurpose indoor hall, swimming pool and athletic ground. It will be completed in the year 2020. The phase 2 will cover the staff quarters, site development and sports grounds.
