L. J. Purani (Founder)

After obtaining Bachelors of Architecture in 1948, Mr. L J Purani started his professional journey serving as an Assistant Architect in a Mumbai based Architectural firm. Culminating his innate entrepreneurial propensity, in 1951 he founded his own company L J Purani Firm in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He restructured the firm in 1986 into the L J Purani & Associates that exists today. Mr. L J Purani was one of torchbearers in the field of Architecture in Ahmedabad during post independence era and is often regarded as one of the leading professionals to help develop the city of Ahmedabad from 1950s to 2000s. In 1987 he was awarded as the “Pioneer of Architectural Profession” in Ahmedabad. During his professional career, he designed more than 5000 projects that spans across various sectors such as Residential, Institutional, Educational, Industrial and Public building.
