Shri L.J. Purani graduated from M.S. University in Bachelor of Architecture. Thus, he began his architecture journey in parallel with India’s Freedom and contributed in his capacity in nation building. Until 1950 he worked on Prestigious Gujarat University in association with renowned Architect Mr. Atmaram Gajjar. Establishment of Gujarat University was one of the pivotal moments in the history of Gujarat. It became a centre of academic excellence and started a new era in city of Ahmedabad.

Mr. L.J. Purani established his own firm and named it “LJ Purani firm”. At the time company started with 1 employee and today it has risen to 125 strong family members across 3 cities in India.

Navdeep Building – This was one of the earliest commercial buildings with four stories to be made in the city of Ahmedabad. The Ashram Road was emerging as one of the epicenters of the commercial activities in Ahmedabad. This building played a pivotal role in establishing the commercial activities as we see today in this area.

Ahmedabad District Co-Operative Bank – Head Office

Soon after its construction, this building became one of the iconic buildings in the city of Ahmedabad. This building embodied and established ADC bank as one of the largest financial institute in the 1970’s. After 45 years, this building still serves as the Head Quarter of ADC bank in Ahmedabad.

After obtaining Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ USA, Mr. Nilesh Purani returned to India and Joined the firm as a Partner. Over the years since then, under leadership of Mr. Nilesh Purani and Mr. LJ Purani, the company grew manifolds with 5 new offices and employee strength of 125.

L.J. Purani & Associates was awarded as a Pioneer in establishing Architecture in the city of Ahmedabad. This honor was given especially for the company’s contribution in establishing various educational, financial and public infrastructure buildings with the best architecture practices for health welfare and safety of its citizens.

After obtaining Bachelor of Architecture degree from M.S. University of Baroda, MS Pragna Purani joined the firm as a partner. Along with Mr. Nilesh Purani, she has been leading architecture, interior design and landscape design teams at the firm. She also serves as an Operations Manager and Finance Manager. She has been playing a pivotal role in mentoring and nurturing your architects and designers at the firm.

From the inception of the firm, all the partners have shared the same zeal for the spread of education in the society. The partners firmly believe that as an investment, education pays the best interest in a society. As part of firm’s commitment to developing educational foundation of the society, L.J Purani & Associates developed campus design for the newly established Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University at Patan. Since then, the university has risen to become one of the premier universities of North Gujarat.

Giving a face to Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s brainchild for kids’ city, the firm designed this state-of-the-art Kids Theme Park in Ahmedabad in 2008. Since its inception, this theme park has put smile on millions of kids.

The idea of the new sports institute “Swarnim Gujarat Sports University” was conceived by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. L.J. Purani & Associates played a vital role in bringing this concept to a reality. The university is located near Vadodara, Gujarat. This is the first sports university of India. The university is currently under construction.

Third generation of professionals, Dhara Purani & Jitayu Purani have joined L.J. Purani & Associates. Dhara Purani completed her Masters of Structural Engineering from Rutgers University. She is a licenced structural engineer she looks after the engineering projects of the firm. Jitayu Purani completed Master of Architecture and Masters of Structural Engineering from University of Florida. He looks after architecture departments, operations and business development in India.
